Opaque Glossy PVC Film

Opaque glossy PVC film is a solid, non-transparent PVC film with a smooth high-gloss surface. Unlike clear film, nothing shows through it — the colour is the product. We hold 30 stock colours and match custom shades on request.

We calender this film in-house in Yiwu, Zhejiang, on eight production lines across a 10,000 m² plant. Thickness runs 0.06–3.0 mm with a ±0.02 mm tolerance and web width up to 1.8 m. The gloss comes from the calender roll itself, so the surface stays uniform across the full web and will not dull like a coated finish.

30 stock colours — and custom matching

The colour card below is our current stock range. For buyers who need to hit a specific brand colour, we match against your swatch, Pantone reference or a physical sample you send.

Two practical notes on colour:

  • Stock colours are held in the warehouse and can ship in small quantities — you do not need to run a full custom batch.
  • Custom shades require a minimum run. Tell us the target colour and we will confirm the minimum and the lead time before you commit.

Glossy vs frosted vs clear — which one?

These three surfaces solve different problems, and buyers often order the wrong one:

  • Opaque glossy (this page) — solid colour, high shine, nothing visible through it. Used where the film is the visible surface.
  • Frosted — translucent matte that diffuses light and hides fingerprints.
  • Super clear — high transparency, low haze, so the product behind stays sharp and readable.

If you are unsure which surface your product needs, send a photo of the finished item and we will tell you which film it is imitating.

What it is used for

  • Bags — handbag panels, cosmetic pouches, pencil cases, trims
  • Stationery — book covers, folders, badge holders, notebook covers
  • Packaging — solid-colour boxes, sleeves, gift packaging
  • Labels and tags — hang tags, price tags, garment tags
  • Craft and decoration — die-cut shapes, party decoration, display props

Because the film is fully opaque, it is also used as a colour-matched backing layer where you need to block what is underneath.

Quality control

Every batch is checked with a dial gauge across the web to hold the ±0.02 mm tolerance, and colour is checked against the approved swatch for each run. Rolls are wrapped in pearl cotton plus PVC film or kraft paper, then palletised.

Samples and ordering

For colour approval we recommend a physical swatch — screens misrepresent colour, and a mismatch discovered on arrival is expensive for both sides. Samples are available at a fee of RMB 300, refunded against your first order; freight is at the buyer’s cost.

Orders are confirmed against a signed specification sheet covering thickness, width, colour reference, finish, packing and quantity. Once confirmed, cancellation is not accepted — so we confirm the specification in writing before the run starts.

FAQ

Is this the same as your super clear film, just coloured?

No. Super clear film is formulated for high light transmission and low haze; this film is deliberately opaque. Different formulation, different application — see the comparison section above.

Can I order less than a full custom run if I pick a stock colour?

Yes. Stock colours are held in the warehouse and can ship in smaller quantities. Only custom colour matching requires the full minimum run.

How close can you match my brand colour?

Send a physical swatch, a Pantone reference or the original product and we will produce a match sample for approval before the run. We always recommend approving a physical sample rather than a screen preview.

Does the gloss wear off?

No. The gloss is formed by the calender roll during production, not applied as a coating afterwards, so it does not peel or dull the way a coated finish can.

What is the minimum order?

Custom colour runs: 1 ton below 0.5 mm and 2 tons at 0.5 mm and above. Stock colours ship in smaller quantities.

Which certifications do you hold?

REACH (SVHC) and RoHS. EN 71-3 (19 heavy metals) was tested by SGS and the report is available on request. We do not supply food-contact grades.
